What's the threshold for height doping flagging? I had 5'10" in my Zwift profile which put me at 178cm. I am really 5' 9.5" (and shrinking slightly ever year as I get older). Since I saw the Zwiftinsider article I wanted to not round up to get all that extra speed I should really have. I waited until after the nationals to make my height more accurate to avoid any flagging, but am I going to get flagged now for the that 1cm correction?
And what are the rules for measuring height? Barefoot, or in cycling shoes? Helmet, or no helmet? For me the answer could be the difference between lower-mid-C obscurity and mid-C obscurity!

Common sense! How do you measure normally your height? Like in "health inspection" meetings ect.. It is weird, if you wear shoes and hat in there... just my opinion....
Zwift Powaaaaa do a retroactive update to show everyone height changes in the past lol

I know for sure people will be exposed, and some big names too... probably so much so that it will never happen, because it may hurt the image of the game and KISS League

1 or 2cm will not trigger a DQ unless you do it every week :-)
Thanks for correcting. I wasn't marked DQ'd, result was marked 0 with a note "HEIGHT" next to it. Now my result is up again. Not that it's anything to brag about.
Please note Sticky

I have changed my height to 5’11” from 6’0”

Before last week I did not know height doping was a thing. Consequently when I started zwift a year ago I paid little attention to it, I rounded my height up to 6’0” not thinking anything of it, I mean who doesn’t want to be taller right.

I had no idea height would be a factor dictating the in-game mechanics until last week. Therefore, I had my GF measure me today barefoot, and I am 5’11.35” to be exact. Closer to 5’11 than 6’0”.

Not that I think 1” difference will matter much anyways. Oh I should rephrase that lol

My Avatar is now wearing a helmet too lol just in case a couple months from now we find out helmets account for in-game mechanics as well :D

It is now very easy to spot this type of behavior on zwiftpower. On race results any change in rider height is highlighted with a green info icon just besides displayed rider height. Examples:

Hi everyone,

So, I decided to test the "height doping" theory tonight in a race to see just how much, if any, advantage it provides a rider. I can attest that it provided me with an advantage. I dropped my height from ~178 cm to ~147cm. My typical w/kg during races will fall between 3.6 to 3.8. Tonight it came in at 3.9. So, not a huge gain, but enough that I could tell I felt stronger during big efforts. My placings can vary week to week, and I recognized several names that I normally finish with, so I don't think my placing really paints the entire picture.

Just so you all know, I'm informing Zwift Power to delete my result and I sincerely apologize for my actions; I feel incredibly guilty about it. But, I had to know for myself. Unfortunately, I now suspect that this "cheat" has been has been going on for quite some time.

Please forgive me!

I don't think this is how it works, someone can correct me please if my understanding of it is incorrect.

Changing height should not affect your absolute wattage output. Watts are watts. Power is power. On a relative basis only changing your weight will affect your relative w/kg, height should won't impact this.

However, changing height will affect is your CdA or (aero dynamic profile), and therefore it will affect your speed at a given wattage with all other things being equal.
If anything lowering your height should indirectly reduce your average w/kg over time because you would have had to work less to stay with group and work less to achieve a given speed.
Of course we may not know whether someone was genuinely testing, despite the evidence being all ready out there or whether they noticed post race that it had left an indelible mark on their profile and therefore best offer an explanation.
one will never to know to add i was always down as 5 foot 5 (165) measured myself and im actually 164 cm which is errr still 5 foot 5. havin that marginal gains and all that
